Chal I gave up on other jobs. I am now empolyed at Rallys. My grandma and sister will no doubt talk down to me b/c I am working in fast food, but I need the money. My best friend, Brandi works there and shes bipolar. I know nearly all of the employees already working there so it won't be bad on my anxiety level. And, if Brandi can keep a job there even with her anger/manic days I think I should be ok. Here I go for $7 an hour....after Ive been making $9.95 for a yr now.

I feel like a failure. i don't mean anything against employees of food service, i am just pissed at myself for not doing any better than giving up.

Some days I effin hate me.

Don't feel bad. I have heard that, on average, for every 10 resumes you send, you will get one interview. If you get more, congratulate yourself.

Well i heard back from two this evening via email. They dont even have the decency to call. They leave emails where i cannot return with a comment. Both retail and they say im not qualified. Hell, I've been in management for the past 15 years. From radio broadcasting to retail.

This really frustrates me and i have to say f'em all.

I'm glad you got a job Hallie. At least you can pay your bills.

Took me 5 1/2 months to get a job, and I've been in management for over 10 years both in restaurant and retail. It is really hard out there. I wish you both tons of support and good wishes.

I'm watching this thread...I think it's very important and anyone not on disability or retired would have to face questions like this. I've asked myself this question many a time.

Sounds like you did the right thing. Please keep us posted and let us know how things go.

Going for a job in law enforcement is brave and I commend you.
