After searching the web for a hour for other bipolar website and forums it sad to say is all I found was old out dated unuse sites . Are we that sad of a bunch that or is it the fact if you need to get help by then we are to sick and for gone to use the internet or maybe its the fact that alot of us not the ones here on this website but the countless bipolar's who are homeless and living on the streets and trust me there are alot of us out there toss way like trash. But for what ever reason there is very very little out there .They say we make up over 1% of the population but if we do then we must make up a large % of the homeless out .

You it cant happen to you .To be homeless well it can it happen to me ! CYS (Chirldren and youth) came to my house which I owned and told me to pack a bag that I was a danger to my kids and where did they take me?:" Well where most of us end . I was dropped at a bus stop far from my house and that was it ! On the street with a bag of stuff .If i was on drugs on the other hand where would I be ? In rehab, ahalf way house ,A group home there would be plenty of optoins out .even though we are grouped in with drugs and drinking for insur. reason we are at the bottom when it comes getting help .what programs that are out there are shinking down to nothing .Lets face it there is no money to make off the mentally ill .

Lucky there is this website but to when ?:

I feel your frustration. I can only hope that time will help with the stigma and then rights and help for people with mental illnesses change for the better. Look at what it was like for other minority groups. African Americans were treated appallingly and now we have an African American running for president. Gay people were beat to death and ostracized and thought to be crazy and now they are accepted readily by much of society and have the right to become married. This proves to me that it is possible. We may not see it come about, but it gives me hope.

The other web site I’ve visited with a bipolar forum is health boards.com, but I prefer it here because all posts must go through a moderator before being added and this process can take hours. The moderators are also quite rude at times to people there, admonishing them rather like one would a naughty child.

Yeah, I check out healthboards on occasion. The moderator thing is kinda ridiculous. I once posted something in the eating disorder category and they deleted almost my entire post! Apparently everything I said was a trigger, like my weight, what I ate, that I didn't eat, etc.. I wasn't trying to offend anyone. I was just posting my feelings, looking for help.

I used to check out BipolarWorld forums. Not many members at all, so I stopped visiting.

hi tripp. I've found a few support forums: Bipolar World (much more active now), Moodgarden, Crazy Boards, Mytherapy and BPnuthouse (which is really small right now). I wander through Bipolar Word, Moodgarden and Crazyboards for the most part. They're all good (supportive, intelligent, insightful) in my view. I'm new to this one, but it sure is big!
