new here, excellent site.i was assesed with bi polar in 2005 but didnt want to believe the doc, figured he didnt know what he was talking about.was given seroquel but never really took it all the time because was just tired all the time,no energy.never really researched it either[bi polar] but after doing some reading at this site i clearly know i have been diagnosed properly without a doubt.the doc put me on valproic acid but havnt been taking them when im suppose to.but i have been self medicating myself with cocaine to the tune of 600000 dallars in the last 9 years.by the way that is not working very well for me.think i will start taking my meds as supposed to[the valproic acid not the cocaine].n e ways this site kinda showed me the light at the end of the tunnell and i know im not alone n e more.hi to all and by to all, very very tired now, going on 5 days being up.peace n luv.

First of all. Welcome to pc!

While i am not a doctor, self medicating is dangerous. You need to let your doctor know what you have been up to. the combo of the two things you are using could be really bad.

I hope you can come back, post often and get the support from us that you need - please take care, see the doc, and keep us updated.

Hi! I'm glad you joined. The people here are really supportive. They have helped me a lot.
I hope you can kick the coke and get better!!!!
Have you considered a therapist? I just read on the bipolar blog that the combo of meds and psychotherapy is very useful in treating bipolar.

Hello flying,

I have to agree with Cthomas about the medication danger. Do yourself a favor and play the smart odds, get a checkup with your physician.

Think of it like a wheel alignment on a car. It'll enable your path to be on a more direct course, be easier to steer and make for a more comfortable ride. After all, 30+ years of self medicating makes for some serious mis-alignment!

Keep posting,
notz
