welcome to pc, lorrie ann the site has many areas that give you info re bipolar. main page as well as the bipolar forum page, plus a quiz you can take that's informative but doesnt' take the place of a dx.
there are a lot of people that don't know much about bipolar and therefore they don't understand. often family members have difficulty relating to somdthing they dont' have. you can use this site to enlighten them!
as for not wanting to sound emotionally needy that's a lot of what goes on around here because we need support at one time or another and soemtimes we are able to help someone else.
so talk away and you'll find people care about what you post.
are you on meds? do you see a therapist? psychiatrist?
help us understand what you need by sharing about yourself if you feel comfortable doing that..
