Since I started taking the lamictal, my moods are for the most part pretty even. But I get so pissed off at stuff now like I never did before... and it's pissing me off. Lovely cycle huh? Before I would just be very irritable. Now I want to hit $hit. And SI seems to be the only release. How normal is this? Maybe I need a different med.

Hey Ryan. Well this really sucks, huh? If this is not a normal kind of cycle for you, I'd say it's the meds. Don't know much about lamictal so I can't speak intelligently about that, but if you're going that far off the deep end then perhaps the cons are out waying the pros on this one. How long you been on it? Have you discussed this with your doc? you should if you haven't yet. I'm sorry I can't offer you better advice, but I feel for ya, that ain't no way to live Buddy! Hope you haven't punched anybody.
And for the record...it's a good thing my walls can't talk...they'd be calling a crisis center! Keep us posted on what's goin' on. TgrsPurr.

Wow, Rem, aren't mood changes one of the main side effects you watch out for in a med change? Sounds like the prime suspect to me. Take care friend.

Sorry to hear this may be a reaction to the med, personally it is the best thing that has happened in my life as far as meds. go.
It is very important you discuss this with your pdoc, you may need an adjustment in your dosage or combination of meds. You must also keep in mind that it is not abnormal in which the way we react to people and their weird or aggressive personalities ( they probably need mental health attention too ) so try (though it is hard) to not allow yourself to get so "pissed off" (the term you used here) things pass, as moods do, and as episodes do too. Lamictal was and is still good for me ( graduaslly in reduction dosage mode) but may not be the bedt choice for all Bipolars, so it is imperative that you consult with your pdoc, a change in meds may be what you need, but you need to stay abreast with your pdoc about this. Final words from me, "hang in there", things will get better, maybe worse first, but with intervention with your pdoc, meds, etc. you can prevent the "worse", really. Things once thought "impossible" can become possible, reality, you need to give it a try. . . even once, twice, or multiple times. ![]() Just never, ever, give up, you'll get there ![]() I can, and would, tell you where I was, where I came from, that may give you a positive "note" on all of this. Meanwhile, take good care, alright? DE

today was better... as was yesterday. I've been tracking how I feel and when I feel that was and I'm starting to see some patterns. I won't get into it but thanks for all the advise. I talked to my pdoc the other day and he thinks some klonopin along with the lamictal might really help.
