I am really struggling with my PMS. It's like over night I go from feeling normal and ok to feeling super anxious, sad, angry, and paranoid. To the point that I am unable to function normally. I can't plan to do things ahead of time (days in advance) because of my anxiety and paranoia levels.

Today, I am 2 days late for starting my period (and no there is no chance of me being pregnant). I feel like my mind is going crazy. I feel weak, very tired, anxious, and have outbursts of anger. I had to force myself to get myself together to return a DVD and to get my prescription at the pharmacy.

I'm having a terrible time.

Sometimes stopping the cycling can wipe out the PMS. Is the Pill or Depo Provera shot an option for you?

I tried the Pill, but it made me severely non reactively depressed so I quit it. Ask the person who prescribes your meds what could be done to help with the PMS symptoms.

Zen, how old are you(if I can ask). I have just been dx perimenopause at 35. I have had symptoms for the last 4 years. My PMS is shocking and looking at anti-depressants(we will see).

I also have adenomyosis and endometriosis. Please get your hormone levels checked and maybe an ultrasound on your abdomen and uterus to rule out physical causes. Premenstrual dysphoric disorder is real and documented. Women have been known to hurt their significant other in the name of this disorder.......it can be terribly debilitating. If you have a mood disorder on top of it......devastating.

I hear you babe......confusing, draining and downright terrifying......don't mess with the hormones, they are a formidable force!!

Good luck babe.........

I'm on the wrong side of 25 years old. I have had a ultra sound of my pelvic and vaginal regions...everything is normal. I do plan to get my hormones checked out.
Thanks for this!

Oh, I get nuttier than squirrel poo just before my period. Birth control pills help, they don't control it completely and I can't use it to skip my period 'cause I just stay pmsing for like a month!
Thanks for this!

I am extremely angry, edgy and quick to fly off starting 2 days before my cycle actually begins. It happens up until I start, then things go back to normal during the cycle. This is without a doubt the ugliest part of my moods.

maybe too young for Peri, but do you get pain and bloating? It took 17 years for me to be dx by my gynae for Premenstrual disphoric disorder, endometriosis and adenomyosis. He found the adeno by ultrasound and the endo by examination. After suffering for so long, I finally have an answer.

Keep asking for help babe.......you do not need to suffer this much.
