hi, this is my first time on this site. i have been looking for a support website for borderline pd since i got diagnosed 8 months ago. i also have ptsd, anxiety, depression and anorexia. ive not long come out of hospital for my eating disorder and it was in there when i got these diagnoses which have come as a surprise as ive been involved with the community mental health teams since childhood and never heard of bpd. i dont like it. i want it to go away. i no i struggle to cope and have bad coping mechanisms but dont want to believe it. whilst in hospital i tried to kill myself a few times and i now realise this is not normal but its all ive ever known, ive been self harming for years. ive been offered a place at a thearapeutic community where i will stay for a year but im scared. you have too commit yourself to not self harming and to eat properly etc. im scared to give up all ive ever known and im unsure i even want it. why not just give up now. has anyone else been through this type of therapy?
thanks for reading.

Hi my lovely

Firstly Im going to give you a tight hug! Because I know only too well what anorexia, depression and BPD feels like.

I have had BPD for 4 years, and anorexia and depression for 10 years.

Just think of it this way, at least you know what is wrong now, and your not sitting around thinking "oh my gosh why am I like this" But I know that BPD is not an amazing diagnosis to have, I try to forget about it all the time and push it to the back of my mind!

I hope the hospital helped with your anorexia, Ive been in hospital many times to, so if you ever need to offload about anything feel free to PM me.

With the thearapeutic community, they are suppose to be really good it focuses on DBT! Dialectical behaviour therapy. I had an assesment to join this community round where I live, but Im to unstable so I couldnt, but you should really go for it if its being offered.

Here if you need me.

All kinds of changes can feel scary. This one too, but it does have something so good to offer you. It sounds very nice. Why not give it a try it out and see if you learn some things that can help you feel so much better.

Hello and can i just say that i also have recentlyish been diagnosed with having emotionally unstable personality disorder which is borderline but with a different name. Its ok to feel scared of change, but i think that the idea of going into a theraputic community is a good thing, it might even help you find good coping skills and a way of managing other issues that you have got. Be strong and take that opportunity.
