I just think too much and I can't find a way to shut my brain off and I just keep thinking the only way to make it all stop is to just off myself.

I can't take it my brain hurts and I wont kill myself or anything it's just I constantly obsess about it and I can't get it out of my mind or think about anything but the negative.

I need someone but I'm so afraid of people letting me down and so sick of it I don't know what to do now...

I just needed to vent, my mind is just ****ing with me tonight..

What is it about night? Must be something we can figure out...

I have trouble with night because it's so dark and quiet, there's nothing "usual" to distract one, nothing happening in the street (can't see much if it does), no meals to prepare or TV shows and one is a bit tired but not sleepy and just doesn't feel great or want to be there. I keep the temperature really low so I can breathe better and so, going downstairs and sitting in my usual chair I'm cold and miserable and my cat won't leave me alone but I'm allergic to him so don't want his hair on my pj's, etc.

The only thing that helps me is realizing it will be a bit better in the morning and my boredom :-) I don't want to be there (up at night) enough so eventually I get back to sleep, even if it takes just dozing and thinking stupid thoughts for awhile.

I don't know. I guess it's when I'm bored and left to think

I've been having problems with sleep too. I obsess about everything that's wrong and jump to ridiculous conspiracy theories as to why and I get so pissed and depressed that my stomach starts to churn and I'm up for hours.

Hell, I'm on friggin vacation in a beautiful country, it's about 4am here and all I can think about is how everyone I care about hates me >:[

Sorry if I'm not helping.

-hugs-

night is worse for me too! i keep tons of data on my moods and misery, suicidal ideation, sadness, urge to self-injure, everything gets worse at night. and i don't even consciously obsess about things (most of the time). the feelings are just there. it sucks.
Thanks for this!

I'm the same way. Night time is always the worst. Too few distractions and there's just something about the ambiance which overwhelms me. I'll try to arrange my sleeping schedule sometimes so I don't have to stay up too late - even though I prefer sleeping later. It's just safer for me that way.

I know I am the exact same, everything wrong just creeps in my mind and ruins me in a matter of seconds...

I have problems at night too. I don't know if this will help you, but I've set up a couple rules for myself:

1) Try to NOT write anything or talk to anyone about important items after 10pm
2) Before bed, create a nighttime routine
3) When I go to bed, I bring a book with me, to keep me distracted for 10+ minutes. I try to read fiction so that my mind whirls around the characters in the book and not my problem(s).
4) Sometimes, putting on a soft light in the bedroom helps.

Have you also considered Journal writing? Sometimes putting your words down on paper clears them out of your head.

Hope this helps and you are better today.

good idea. this is why im happy i have school but it's also a double edge disadvantage because i get stressed and everything gets worse.
