I'm pondering the title. Earlier, I announced it as Self Love. It isn't really that....It's more Coping with an Absence of--or Having a Shaky--Self Love.

I've set up an album on my member page title Seligman's Strengths and Virtues. If you get a chance, go there before the chat. Some of what I hoped to chat about is there, and there is a cool website to go to and a survey to take there.

The scheduled time of day for the chat seems to be a bad one. When I look down at the bottom of the site, to find out who's even online at PsychCentral, only two or three of us are on at that time! I'm thinking of trying to move it.

Also, I think our chat should have 15 minutes at the start just to chat--as in, free chat. And I'd like to have a good 10 minutes at the end for free chat as well. We can always discuss "the topic" in our forum, so it's more important, to my mind, to have a scheduled chat where we can all gather.

It turns out that there are a couple of ways to do scheduled chats: either as formal support or education groups, OR as scheduled groups that are no-host and no-topic. We can do either--or both.

More than anything, I just want a time and place where we converse with each other in a group, spontaneously.

What do you want?

I'm West Coast, on Pacific Time, and for me, it starts at 12. For East Coast, that means 3 pm. On your Calendar (in the darkest blue bar at the top of this page), a click will take you to the day's scheduled chats. We're Borderline Support Chat. Click on that, and it will give you the time in your time zone.

It would be great if you're around then!!

BPD2, when are thinking of changing it to? I'm in the UK so about 7 hours ahead, but I'm guessing most are in the US so would probably be best to do it when most are around? I agree it would be good to have a "chat" and carry on discussion/topic in forum
Thanks for this!

I like the chat as open chat because it lets us bring up what we're coping with in our lives, and it lets everyone share in offering support. I'm trying to give room for that in the chat as it's now scheduled, but we're all a little stiff in warming up to the format.....I think we're used to the forum for discussion. I really hope for the spontaneity of a chat, though. I love the sense of community I get to feel there, for a whole hour! Or for whatever part of it I can manage--sometimes, in other chats, I can't stay the whole time. It's the same all over...

I went to chat and it showed that there IA a bpd chat room and people are there but when I tried to go it only as options for generic public rooms and the BPD chat wasn't available. Guess I'm not welcomed story of my life.
Thanks for this!

Bizarre! I don't know why you can't get in....Did you go to chat, go to the lobby, then go up to the little tiny brown door icon at the top of the chat window?

Try going to any chat that way, then let me know if that was the problem....

I am so sorry!

Hmmm. Did you scroll down as far as you could? The hosted chats hide just beyond the edge of the window...you have to scroll down to see them...
