IMO Glen Close DOES NOT have BPD.

She has Antisocial Personality Disorder.

A person with BPD wouldn't have hurt the family pet. She probably would have taken a baseball bat to his car but she wouldn't have touched the rabbit.

I HATE that movie and soooooo completely resent any therapist/psychologist/ MSW/psychiatrist/mental health worker who mentions that character as the poster child for what BPD looks like!
Thanks for this!

But that's what I mean. She DOESN'T have the disorder. They need to remove the picture of Glen Close as Alex from the textbooks. (Yes, I've seen a textbook with her picture in it to describe a typical borderline.)

Perhaps the character has some type of anti-social personality disorder. Maybe anti-social with borderline features? IDK. Borderlines tend to have a real soft spot for animals.

yes i agree she does not have it at all.
and i too get angry when anyone corresponds bpds and the character in that film - as its not a healthy representation of the disorder whatsoever
