.....what is it about the borderline brain? (or just my borderline brain?)
what the hell goes on in there?....for it to tell me all give a crap like, that the person that liked me just 2 minutes ago or even 5 seconds ago... that they just don't like me anymore....and all thats happened is that they are not there or they have not responded to a message or got distracted in some other perfectly justified regular person kind of way! do I not remember that it was fine?....what makes my brain decide to urgently not trust anything about them and decide that 'the' person has just gone off, had a MASSIVE epiphany and suddenly decided to change their mind because it's so clear now that I'm rubbish?... I mean.....wtf? I don't believe it alot of the time anymore...this rejection mechanism in my head. Which makes it all the more weird because it still happens anyway... it's automatic! and I just don't know? ![]() bleh |

...it's too late to change it now.
but I made a poor choice in the title there by using the word 'stupid' not a good word to use when referring to mental health issues! I apologise if I offended anybody. I think I would swap it with 'absurd'....thats more how it seems to me anyway..yep |

Mine's absurd too. No matter how many times you tell me you love me or show me you like me, that information gets erased when you don't respond and you automatically hate my guts.
Like you, I rectify the thought pattern, but it's stuck on auto... You're not alone ![]() |

Monkey, I really wish I had no clue what you were talking about, but I know this autopilot reaction all too well. In spite of all evidence to the contrary, my brain keeps pulling me back to that 'absurd' place. Until we can get rid of it, I think the most important thing is to make sure it doesn't turn into a self fulfilling prophecy when it comes to how the other person feels about us.
I'm glad you are catching yourself in the act...I think that's a prerequisite to changing it. ![]()

DM, I struggle with the same problem(s). I spend a lot of my energy just fighting myself and trying not to drive people away with the behaviors/thinking patterns you mentioned. Not that it seems to help...
