I have a friend who has BPD and she is not doing too well lately. I don't want to go into too much detail because it's her business and I just want help, if anyone has advice etc it would be good thanks.
Basically she is feeling very suicidal, has self harmed (idk if she still does) she recently got out of a short stint in hospital. The place she was living with a family member (i think) has become too much for her. She's packed up and wants to leave. Idk where she is planning on staying. I suggested she tell her mental health team, but she says they're not much help for her, because she told them she wants to leave and they didn't do anything to help. The doc stopped her anxiety meds, not sure why. I just want to do the right thing and help, but Idk how. We don't live near each other either, so yeah. Any sort of advice would help. I don't want to feed into it I just want her to feel a bit better. thanks

It's nice to hear that you want to help your friend get through this rough patch, without becoming a pawn in the game, but still care about her. Those are nice intentions.

I think that it's difficult to give advice on what you might do, to keep safe boundaries up, but still see that she is okay. I don't know what you can do, honestly. Are there homeless shelters in her area? Can she work? Is there a need for jobs that she can do somewhere nearby?

If your friend can work, and jobs are available in X town, maybe you could seek out shelters or halfway houses in X town to get her through until she can save enough money to get out to a safe, healthy place to live.

I wish that I could think of some better advice for you ~ but that's all I can think of right now. Best wishes to your friend...I hope that she's okay & stays safe!
