Does anyone else have problems with remembering things and being very indecisive? I have trouble remembering things like taking my meds and simple things like days of the week. I have alot more that I have problems with, but that is just examples. As for the indecisiveness, even simple things like being asked what should we do for dinner....always comes up with an "I don't know"......I hate both of these problems and just wondered if it was just me, or if others experience it also. Do you think it is part of BPD? What is your thoughts?

I'll start with being indecisive, that has always been a problem for me. I think for me the past trauma has me mentally stuck at the age of 12. So when something comes up I never know what to do and need to ask usually my mom first or someone else.

As for memory I used to have a great memory and now not so much. It is very scary and I now write alot of things down and have a peg board by my desk. It's a small peg board and has lots of papers stuck in it.*S*

The memory is probably from depression that is my opinion.

I have forgotten to take meds, sometimes on purpose. One day I saw my dinner meds and thought, oh I should prepare a few weeks worth and did that. Than I couldn't remember if I took the dinner meds, because I got side tracked with preparing them. Just to be safe I didn't take a dose, just in case I had taken them before making up a new batch.

LW
Thanks for this!

Dude...I am Queen of this. My short term sucks, but my long term is great. I avoid making dinner choices too, but I have seven people to cook for, and someone always has an issue. I'm not good at mapping out my day...if I do I get things done..but I also procrastinate on making the list...so...nothing gets done...and it's usually because I forgot.

I have been having trouble lately remembering the date and it's hard for me, yes, to remember what day it is, too. I have to play eenie meenie mienie mo sometimes to decided what to do or what to buy; a dumb thing, but it does help me decide.

BPD makes me feel so tumultous and cyclonic and I have to consciously slow down my thoughts, speech, and movement. Quite often.
