T gave me my first diary card and it say's eat 3 times day. Assess Emotion-Mind 0-5 and the days of the week it says specify i am not sure what I am specifying? Is it When or what I eat? Or is it emotion mind? When she was explaining it I think I left the room because I am totally confused. I think T should have explained it at beginning of session not the end because by the end my head was toast. Is there anyone out there that uses the diary card? T keeps talking about emotion mind and that I am very passive like it's a bad thing very confused.

I don't have that particular card, but I do fill out a weekly diary sheet for my DBT group class.

Did you eat 3 meals yesterday? Did you eat mindfully ~ paying attention to what you ate, stopping when you were full, enjoying your meal? Or, were you eating emotionally ~ a few nibbles of this, chowing down on that, forgetting to eat?

That's the way that I would take it. You could always skip that part of the card, and tell your T that you were confused. You didn't fill it out because you didn't really understand what it meant.

Hope that helps you! ((hugs)) Don't worry ~ you can always ask for an explanation if you don't fully understand, rather than pretend that you've got it. Personally, I like to summarize what I believe they said, to make sure that I've gotten it right. That helps me a lot!
