It's amazing what you can learn about yourself when you interact with people. I've always known I don't handle criticism well, but I never knew how much I worried about rejection until I found PC. Now, whenever I see that someone responded to a post or pm, I get really nervous in the few moments it takes to get to the reply. Even after six weeks of seeing how supportive everyone here is, I still worry that something I said is going to be dismissed as stupid or dumb (which are different things to me).
...And yet the one time anything I've posted is given a bad reply, I hardly care.
Anyway, there's my confession/realization.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I know exactly what you mean. But I wholeheartedly reject this. o.O hahaha jk.

I still worry about either not getting any responses or getting critical ones. I know, it's hard. I've been here for many months now and still do that. I don't expect it will go away for me. *hugs*

It won't go away. Every once in a while, in an effort to stick up for something I believe in, I'll puposely put my feet to the fire knowing I'm going to get negative comments, and in that case I steel myself for it and I deal kinda-sorta okay.

A few times, however, I've said something that was taken negatively by a few people (even though those people may have been in the minority) and their response totally rocked me and it took quite a while to shake off. My last total rage episode was partially caused by that.

i deal with this all the time. anxiety because there's not a notification when i'm expecting one, or because there ARE notifications and i just don't want to see that i've offended someone (unless i meant to) or someone is just being a jerk. i don't mind people disagreeing. but the presentation means a lot, you know? sigh...

i expect people to say something to make me feel bad about something good that's been happening to me...like my exercising...i haven't told my parents because i expect them to react negatively. like, "you should have spent that money on something useful!" or, "you're not going to be able to stick with it." or, if i do, and i lose weight but i'm not toned (because i won't be again without surgery), "you don't look like you've lost weight..."

but my parents are assholes...

and ignore my mini rant, please...sorry...

One of the things I like about PC is that I can think before I speak, which is a problem for me. I also have an easier time apologizing.
