I was waiting for the water boiler to finish so I could pour water into my coffee cup. I thought it had finished, but it hadn't quite, so I got a little boiling water on my hand. It felt very good after a second or so. I thought I was done with this but I really, really want to harm myself. It still feels good... Maybe a cigarette will help. What helps you?

Hey, best you write trigger if posting in here about self harm, just some others can be set off by these posts.

Try to resist on your self harm, I'm currently in a lot of pain after a relapse last night.

Also scolding water!! I've been there I don't recommend it.

Have you tried taking a cold bath. If the need to aint to strong that can help. No scaring, and perfectly safe.

I'm kind of confused about the trigger thing. Is an icon not enough, should I write "trigger" in the subject too?

Thank you for the tip! I'm bipolar depressed now and very fatigued, so I wish I had a bath and not just a shower. Standing up is tiresome.

I use my phone so it don't come up, it don't trigger me, just I know some others get up set,
Don't want you to get caught on a bad day.

Yeah I normally just write trigger in subject box.

Yeah I get that. I've been trying to make my kids dinner for the last half hour but standing is a mission.

What about the ice cubes? That can help too.

I would do both. Normally the icon should be enough, people know what it means but if it doesn't show for some people like grey, then it's useless and the trigger in the subject would cover that situation.

Yes. Nice to meet you, I'm André! I have been lurking around here for a while. I registered when things started crashing down. I have posted in some other forums too.

Tell me if there's something I should delete, will you? I have this issue where I write things that just read like complete bigotry and malice, but it's never my intention.

This seems like one of the most supportive forums. I don't feel very supported in the bipolar forum, but that might be my way of communicating. Thank you! I'm feeling more relaxed, still very depressed.

Hey I would never say to delete something, there your thoughts in that moment. And they have every right to be here the same as others.

We all ramble... But it's easier to write in here. They have to get out of our head at some point.

Nope I agree with you, I never felt supported in any of the other groups apart from this one.

Don't get me wrong we have our ups and downs. But we all support each other here it's like our little BPD family.

I think the relationships forum seems supportive. Well they're all more supportive than any other place I've been to, but yeah.

sorry to hear that you accidentally self harmed yourself but your reaction to it was what I would expect from a person self harming in feeling good about it...running it under cold water often helps...
