Well, I had to go to the hospital again. The doctors were not thinking when they gave me two medications that affect blood pressure. However, I emerge unharmed.
They did a psych test on me, and surprise surprise, I went from matching all of the traits of Borderline Personality Disorder to only matching two or three traits. I am no longer classified as someone with Borderline Personality Disorder. I am now classified as someone with Borderline Traits. It took five years of training my brain with DBT, but I did it! This means that you can do it too! I believe in all of you!! |

That's wonderful! Just make sure you keep up with occasional direct practices and reminders on your own so those traits don't sneak back out. I've found that as long as I'm directly thinking about or practicing them I'm pretty good, but when I stop it doesn't take long before things start reemerging. I guess I haven't incoorperated it in to my life yet, but I do know that it does work so I'm definitely not giving up on it.
