I'm nervous and excited. Tomorrow I go to a Dodge dealership to buy a new car. They have my credit report, they know I have no money to speak of to put down at the moment but have said "the finance dept says they are confident we will be able t find financing for you." So that's positive but still I won't believe it til I drive off in a car!

It will change my life for the better so much.

I am not going to give up regardless of the outcome. if I have to, at worst, I will have to wait a few weeks to have some cash to put down. It will suck having to put it off but I need a car. Done procrastinating this!

Thanks for listening to my ramble.
Thanks for this!

Hey s4nd that's great about the car…you must be thrilled. I remember you said you had to walk to and from the bus so this will save you that journey anyway.

Well as we would say here when someone gets a new car 'well wear' …

I'm sure you will be driving off in no time.

Well I hope this weekend. Worst case though it will be a few weeks saving for a down payment but I'm determined to get one.

You will, sure even if it not this weekend, waiting a couple weeks might even add to the excitement! I know you probably worried about the money but in time if not now.

Best of luck ok

It does make life easier. I walked and rode the bus for years.

But please be very aware of the deal you are getting into. They want to sell a car and make money; don't let them "good buddy" you into a deal that you don't want. Don't be afraid to stand up and walk away (I had several follow me all the way to the parking lot - they really want to deal!) when the offer isn't what you want, and can comfortably live with.
Know going in exactly how much you want to spend each month (plus insurance) and don't waver from it. The dealer can do the wavering - they may talk about 'the bank' but they are usually the ones doing the financing.

I am paying mine off in the fall and I can't wait to be payment-free.

I had a dealer try to do this to me and I think he thought he could especially succeed since I am female. I knew what car I wanted and named a price about $1500 below the sticker price. When he said he couldn't do it, I immediately started to get up and walk out, haha, and in the end I got it after some haggling, plus I had them do a tune up and put on new brake pads and new wiper blades for me.
Thanks for this!

If they offer financing be careful of the interest rate.
On a new car I'd be leery of anything over 3%.
Reason being is that car loans these days can extend out to 10yrs.
That's a long time to pay for a car so the interest rate can really
add up to alot of the cost of car in the long run.

That being said, I wish you well & hope you get what you want.
Can not imagine not having a car.
Here in suberbia there's hardly any public transportation.
I love the Metro but we don't have it here & buses are scarce.

Good luck, have a great weekend.
