How do you cope when your partner is away?
Even if my partner, L, is away for one night, I struggle significantly. Right now, L has been gone since Fri evening, it's now Sunday evening, and she's coming back tomorrow at around 12pm, so about 15 hours to go, and I'm finding it incredibly difficult to get through this one last night, more so than the other days and nights. Besides the point, whenever L is not here, even for a short period of time, I lose all ability to cope with everything and anything. How do you guys cope when someone you're very attached to, isn't there for a period of time?

I try to distract myself by doing things, or tell myself that I really wanted to be alone anyway. When it gets really hard, I try to shut my feelings down - dissociate, I guess (not healthy, blah blah blah, but sometimes it's all that works). It's tough when you know that your significant other is really what makes you capable of being calm and stable.
