Okay, I'm a little freaked out, and not really sure why this freaked me out. This isn't the first time this has happened. I don't smoke inside of my house, so a couple of minutes ago, I went outside to have a cigarette (it's about midnight in my neck of the woods). I was standing near the end of my driveway, looking at the pumping station across the street, and, as is the usual, having a conversation with myself. Nothing earth shattering, just idle chatter (it's one of the ways that I work out dialogue for my writing, as well as just conquering boredom). This is what freaked me out. About a year and a half ago, I dreamed that exact situation, down to the idle conversation, the clouds in the sky, the pumping station, even where I was standing in the driveway.

A year and a half ago, I was living in a different town (we just moved into this home in July), and didn't even know that this house existed. I really don't understand why I'm so freaked out by this. Every time that this has happened before, it has always involved some mundane moment (no I don't dream of Lotto numbers or anything like that), but this time it just feels different. Every other time it would just create a sense of wonder, but this time I feel terribly sad for some reason, and I don't know why.

Aw don't feel sad! Something very similar happened to me! I can't explain it either. Also get a lot of Daja Vu too!

Interesting, not sure why it would freak you out or make you sad.

I won't say 'don't be freaked out' because I too have experianced it and have run the range of emotions attached to the experiance..wonder, amusement, confusion, saddness. Never seems to matter what type of dream I'm 'remembering' that I'm now experiancing...any of the emotions will happen seemingly dependant on nothing. It's weird and ultimately facinating, but I also have no logical reason for it. It's a little more unsettling than daja vu because I actually remember dreaming about the same circumstance where as with daja vu, it just 'feels' as if I'd done the same before.

I have to admit, I 'talk to myself' as well, and it is all about dialog lol Thank you for saying that...I thought I was the only one who did that. Don't care if people think I'm odd, I've come up with some (in my opinion) brilliant dialog usuing that method...or sometimes just weeded out the chaff.

deja vu* There, my inner spelling monster has been appeased

But seriously I talk to myself and have full conversations with people in my head...just not out loud. But in a sense the same thing.

As for deja vu, memories, precognitive images or dreams. I know that it's happened to me before too.. not for a long time but I have.

I used to have DEJA VU and it always freaked me out sometimes. However, I realize the brain is an incredible and mysterious organ and is usually the culprit.
