Sometimes I just can't believe I suffer from BPD.. it's just surreal. I meet 8 of the 9 criteria.. Does everyone agree with the "professionals" that BPD it one of, if not thee worst MI to have?? I feel it is when I'm hurting with the 3rd degree burn syndrom but then there are a few moments where I wonder if there is more to it than I'm seeing?? Idk what I'm trying to say. Just rambling I guess..

Same here, I used to meet 9 of the criteria but managed to get rid of the SH and drug abuse with hard work and therapy.

No, because its curable and other MI are not curable and require life-long maintenance on psychotropic drugs. Plus there are positive attributes borderlines have that are not found in "sane" people. Personally I think BPD is not as bad as the other mental health conditions I suffer/suffered from.

I think so, one thing I've been learning about lately is duality, which is a hard concept for me to integrate into my world. But I've made the first steps in acknowledging that it exists.

Just curious whether you meant to say "non-duality" - from what I understand people with BPD (which I'm pretty sure includes me) believe a situation is black or white/good or bad etc., which would be "duality". Non-duality however is the concept more of "is-ness" where there isn't definite black and white. It's a Buddhist concept more or less. Buddhism is a good path for BPD's I think.

I think I did it was too late for me to be on the internet last night. I should've been in bed. What I meant by duality is that there are manifestations of good and bad within every being, nobody is perfect.

I think what I meant rather than any religious or spiritual context - is that there are two sides to the same coin, everybody is at least two faced. Some of us who were very traumatized have many faces. I'm coming to accept that nobody can live up to my standards and that everybody is going to make me angry with them from time to time. I still go through periods of "idealization" and "devaluation" because like I said I'm working on that still.

I also was understanding it's one of the more serious MI's but I haven't had any other so couldn't say! It freaked me out when I read that
