I need to get out, I want to get out. Problem is, I have no place to go, no idea what to do or anything. I have been so out of the loop and just kind of "living" for so long that now I dont' even know how to get out and enjoy the sights, or hang out outside of my four walls.

just thought I'd share.

I dont know! I wish I could help Lol! There are so many things I would like to do but don't have the $. If I had the resources, I would love to hop on a train and travel up the coast. I would also love to go back to Rome. And Paris.

Day things I have a harder time with. I dont really have any friends so going to the typical, obvious places don't seem like fun to me. I was born and raised here so I have seen everything I would like to see (solo, that is).

Did you come up with anything? How was your day?

No, I didn't. I dont' really have the resources to do any real traveling like you would like to. but I dont' really have the desire to see the world like that either so that's not really an option for me.

Just some place local would be nice.

tyvm for your suggestions though!

I often feel that way. Even if I can get out from the kids, I don't really have anywhere to go. I mean, I go for lots of walks and stuff, but sometimes I want to DO something but have no idea what/how/where. It's like some weird social awkwardness. It's why I normally end up gaming, but then inside I'm agitated knowing I actually want to GO.

Can you go for a walk? Even to the end of your street might be helpful.

I hear that works for many. Unfortunately I rarely drink and when I do it's with a few or less people. Been to bars/pubs/etc about as many times as I can count on one hand

Just the way I am.

I see.

It is actually more about the atmosphere than the alcohol. In the UK there are many-many old pubs, hundreds of years old with absolutely fantastic interiors, relics, old photos, historic objects, open fireplace, live Irish music, etc...

I understand though. It doesn't work for everyone.

In Canada we DO truly have a few pubs like that, but in a lot of North America (maybe even more pronounced in the US - not sure) most pubs are just 'toned down bars' In Vancouver we really did have some great Irish pubs, but even at that, when my friends from Scotland came to visit they said that although the look was obv trying to be replicated that they were very unlike any UK pubs.
/me wants to go to the UK!

I think I would feel weird in any setting, pub or otherwise just going to hang out. Although edda pointed out that it's not necessarily about the drinking, well I'd be like well, what do I do then? and going for drinks in a public place by myself just doesn't sit well with me but then I'm no social butterfly by any stretch of the imagination lol.

I have to have something to do.

I have to have something to do.
Maybe check out local classes and see if anything interesting is about? I would love to take up some classes or anything social like. My friend wants me to go to burlesque lessons I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to but the thought of all those ppl.....eeek!

I am not a pub/club goer either. Love to go out for meals, see a concert or cinema but not one for drinking really. Makes me feel sad anyway! I used to be a right party goer...but those days have one for me now.
