DX

I just found out that I was dxd BPD when I was 18. No one told me. I found it in my records looking for a Dr's name!

I found out by accident, too. Did my Ts think it was irrelevant to my treatment? Did they think it would be harmful for me to know because it is so stigmatizing, or because they didn't know what to do differently anyway? It's infuriating, because I wasn't given the chance to help myself by seeking appropriate treatment or educating myself.

Obtaining these records I have seen A LOT of different dx for me. It goes from depression to major depression and bpd traits. then mood disorder NOS. then bipolar II rapid cycling/mixed features, GAD and Panic D/O. Theeeeen bipolar NOS, Panic d/o, PTSD, and BPD.

what is right??

whatever you feel to be right I would say go with which one you are connected to the best and shaped your world around it

My current therapist says she doesn't see too much of the BPD traits in me. But at the same token, I see some of them. Weird?

It may come down to the Dr. not wanting you to know the label he uses. My T does not want to label me for fear of me feeding into my issues. To her, I just have the "traits of possibly having BPD'. So is it better to have the label, or to not have the label. I still don't know what is better...

I found out the DX first this year doing PHP/IOP at a hospital Id been discharged from. I had been there off and on a total of 30 days in a few months! SO the Dr I saw the entire time is the one who Dx me but he didn't tell me either. I saw it on my treatment plan when I signed it for partial hosp. I cried for 4 days.

It can certainly suck reading our records . I wouldn't recommend it
But hopefully now you have more to work with
