Hey guys,

Please take the time to read my original post here.

I have Borderline and Schizophrenia in my close family and I recently began research on it because I'm having some trouble. After reading my post in the above link, am I showing early signs of either disease? I'm honestly scared and I know its difficult to answer this question being that I am 16 and its just one forum post and in now way dives into the deep end of my mind but i would like to know if this is a temporary struggle or if i need to see help. I'm becoming increasingly scared and sad and pessimistic and negative and angry and.... gah. idk...

Trippy

Hi trippy,.. seek help where you can find it and if it doesn't sit right with you seek it some more..

I read your original post, I am sorry about your mother and your family situation, that in itself is hard enough to move on from..
.. if at all possible, try not to think about the religious component.. I was raised fanatical Pentecostal born again Christian.. You do not have a demon soul etc.. It is just a term 'religious' people use because they cannot "remedy" this person with immediate prayer... That is not me trying to undermine your upbringing or beliefs, I always tell ppl not to confuse God with religion..

Seek help.. 16 is a tough year.. I wish I had of sought help then...

I would just go to a doctor and ask to be referred for assessment - as far as i'm aware though, at 16 you won't yet be diagnosed with the disorder. I'm not saying it's fair but from what I know those are the guidelines. You may still be able to access treatment anyway, it simply depends on where you are and what's available. Good luck.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
