When I have an unpleasant experience, not necessarily too painful experience, I can never forget it or let it go. It could be a days activity and one of the kids got sick ( not because of the activity) and I can never do that activity again, ie going to restaurant, mall.

it could be that my bf was not nice , just moody, when we are doing something and I can never do that again

It really is limiting my life. Why do I obsess
It is not that I wallow in it but I can not make myself forget and move on.

I suggest trying not to feed into the memory. You cannot change what happened, and those memories only have as much power as you let them have.

Maybe start small. If something bad happened at the mall, just try walking through it. Then after that feels safe and comfortable, maybe go to the mall and purchase a coffee to go, then go to a store after that feels safe, etc. You can overcome this. I wish you tons of luck.

yes it does become depressing. My therapist keeps telling me to stop feeling so deeply But it is a fear of the event even though it was not such a traumatic event photographic memories perhaps

Yes thanks. That's good suggestion, something my therapist would suggest. Stop feeling so deeply. Thanks
