or is there a connection with this diagnosis. Not the sole reason for it of course.
I have noticed in my life, from knowing fellow "sufferers" and reading in this thread... that in women the symptoms usually start in adolescence and then there seems to be a great deal of women getting this particular diagnosis when they hit per-menopause,
Am I alone in wondering about this connection?

I've heard that changes in estrogen levels make it worse. High estrogen pills generally aren't a good option and for some the pill in general can increase the symptoms. Tends to be worse in young adults and then again later in life for menopause.
I've never been told any of this by a dr or pdoc but I've found a fair bit online about it.

I have never read about a connection, I would be really interested in learning more about it. I am definitely a terror around my time of the month sometimes. I even looked into the PMDD diagnosis, but while my symptoms are increased, they don't make me unable to work, etc.

ive recently started taking birth control and i didnt want to blame them right away for my moods downward spiral, but i think they may be contributing. im still not sure, though, because i usually tend to become EXTRA blah at this time of year, so...its hard to tell.

Personlly I feel that I can attest to the entire hormone levels contributing to the BPD war. If not a direct coorolation it certainly doesn't help matters. I am 48, have been in peri menopause for a few years. NEVER before this stage did my BPD manifest itself the way it does now; in fact, though I've always had some problems BPD related looking back, I wasn't even diagnosed and didn't need the help that I do now until about a year ago. I guess that's proof enough for me, but I am working on having some hormone testing done at whatever the cost .... in hopes that something can be given me in order to help ease the difficulty. I have googled rage, etc. in perimonpause ~ we are NOT alone; there are many women who experience extremes just like we do! I would agree, definitely NOT the core reason, but misery seems to like company. Lol

I had a radical hysterectomy, and I was on hormones for a brief time... the hot flashes were killer
After I stopped the hormones... I found that my BPD symptoms lessened and that my T and my new pdoc treat me more for Bipolar II than bpd now....

Not clear on what you mean "but also know the other foot can and will fall too...does that make sense?"
