Hi,

I was wondering. My therapist talked about having bpd and major depressive disorder but I am curious what that would look like? I mean, a bpd symptom is intensive mood swings lasting a few hours to a few days at most.
But if you also have major dd, wouldn't you have the 'high/happy' parts of the mood swings? Or less intensive? Anyone who has been diagnosed and/or has some more info?

Thanks

You wouldn't get high or manic moods with mmd as it's depression only. I am also in the process of finding out if my depressions and anxeitys are BPD or co-morbid disorders. I'm seeing the pdoc soon for assessment at my DBT place to find out. I'm really not sure at the moment how to differentiate between depressive or anxiety disorder and BPD moods. As soon as I get my assessment I'll find out and let you know!

I have MDD and BPD... I don't really have highs ever, but my low moods kind of swing around from depression, anxiety, irritability, anger, hopelessness etc

I also have both of them. I feel empty most of the time though, so I can't really tell you much about the mood swings.

Update:

I got diagnosed today with both Borderline Personality disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. And also an eating disorder and an anxiety disorder.

Thanks for all the helpful answers!
