How can you tell 'it' is just depression and not BPD. Is there a difference? Can someone with BPD have depression and not a relapse of their BPD? Can symptoms of depression mirror symptoms of BPD or are the symptoms of BPD specific to that? Yes, I am very confused!

with depression you are going to be down all the time, with bpd you will cycle rapidly( i do 4 to 5 times a day usually) i could go into more detail, but my ex just really pissed me off so you'll have to wait till the next up cycle..don't worry it won't be long hee hee!

Thanks. And bugger (lol). .I have both major depression and BPD but have been symptom-free for 1-2yrs. Unfortunately from what you said trying2survive, and with the other symptoms I have been choosing to ignore (!) I guess it would fit more with BPD than depression :/

Agree with all of that...except the part about cycling 4-5 times....that would be slow for me. With me its more like 20plus times.....granted I'm not easily understood, but there's never a dull moment around me!!

I just came out of another major depressive episode about a month ago. They last around 3 to 4 weeks and I get them about once a year, nothing triggers them. They are terrible and disgusting places to be.

However in the mean time, I deal with BPD symptoms almost daily and oftentimes hourly.

I describe them as intense feelings of extreme emotions that ambush me from out of no where. Its like walking through beautiful woods next thing and arrow comes flying out of no where and straight through your chest. I cant tell when or how long why. They can subside after a few minutes or hours, but those ambushing emotions rarely last longer than one day.

Plus I CAN NOT stand the feeling of abandonment! ARRRHAHAHAARRRGGGH!!!!!!!! Which is not a symptom of Major Depressive Disorder.
