I have two questions regarding therapy:

Does anyone have experience with EMDR therapy as a treatment for BPD?

How much of hating your therapy and feeling you're going nowhere in it should one tolerate before deciding to move on?
Thanks for this!

To question #1 - No.
To question #2 - That depends on how long you've been in therapy and how well you connect with your therapist. Also, if you think you're going nowhere, write down any positive changes you've had and/or made in your life since beginning therapy. If you have BPD it's pretty common to want to ditch therapy. Ask yourself why you really want to leave. Are you touching on some difficult stuff like transference or things you don't want to talk about?

I tried EMDR and it didn't do a thing for me. I read somewhere there is no evidence to back it up.
Thanks for this!

#1 - A little, but I didn't tolerate it very well.

#2 - I have not always enjoyed therapy but I've always felt it helped and provided some relief from my strong emotions. Helps that I have a great therapist. That's the key: a good therapeutic relationship. You might need to try out a few therapists before you find someone who clicks with you and helps you move forward.
