I'm basing this post on one of my all time favorite songs: "I am what I am" by Above and Beyond feat. Oceanlab, which I feel was written for us borderlines.
PLEASE pay attention to what she says, or look up the lyrics. I mean, God couldn't have made a better song for us borderlines. This song emphasizes self-acceptance, and is an expression of a person telling the world that she is who she is and that's ok ... she doesn't need to be saved or changed or shown anything. She just needs to be known and accepted. Not only is she accepting herself, but is also demanding or pleading with the world to accept her for who she is. If this song doesn't put a smile on your face or make you cry happy tears, I'll give you your money back. |

What a great song, I can see why you say it reminds you of borderlines! Thanks for sharing

Nice song, as for other people's philosophies, honestly I believe many simply borrow what they think sounds right. And the current one is that mental disorders are not a weakness because they are not even real. Sadly.
For me, this song... it's on a more personal level for me, but when I think about how I feel about myself as a borderline and how others relate to me, this song really brings it to me. Especially the last lyrics where the writer is now 'too smart' to try to gain understanding or believe.. perhaps in unconditional love for themselves. The link is mobile, not sure that matters.
