Just real quick they diagnosed me with Bi-polar last week. Well after doing a lot of reading I really think it is Borderline Disorder.

My question is do you ever learn or do they stop about thinking about things and your mind spins them way out of control. Like something simple happens. My girlfriend gets a text and I spin it up in my head she is cheating. She has never given me reason one to think any of that. But my mind will run with it bad. This happens daily for me.

Then when we get in an argument. I just get so angry and emotional. I can't control it the outburst. One I way over react and that just makes it worse. Cause she is very head strong and will stand her ground and that just makes it really bad especially when she finally pops.
She wants me to when it starts that she say timeout and raise her hand and say you are starting to do it. Then I stop trust her and listen to her.
Im not sure I can do that.
Have you learned ways to deal with this and keep all this anger and hate at bay.

Thank you so much for your time. I just trying to understand all this and get a grip on it.
I wish sometimes my feelings are so strong I wish someone would turn me off.

Hello, Craftybigdog, and welcome! It could be that you have borderline also. Bipolar and borderline can go hand in hand. I was diagnosed with both.

As folks can tell you, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) can be a good for both bipolar and borderline--especially dealing with emotion regulation.
