Does anyone else feel like they live in two worlds? Do you feel like you have other people inside of you?
I'm not sure if it's different worlds or not but I find that I live most of my life within, here I talk to people, act out particular situations, listen to their opinions and have a laugh with them, it's almost like its the time when my others can come out and express themselves that's safe and where nobody gets hurt.

I want to have friendships, but part of me feels as though I have already got friends, the thought of going out somewhere with so called 'real' friends puts this dread in me, nobody understands that I already have friends, I have had them for years and we enjoy spending time together. My life within is perfect, it's everything that I have ever dreamt of.

At times I am aware that the world within me is not real, but it feels real, to me anyway and it's the only place I have got that helps me to try and figure out who I am. Without it I would be completely empty.

How else are you suppose to figure this out?

well I have my imaginary world within, a whole made of world with a cast of characters, that I have had since I was about 14 or so. I escape there at least every night. and then I have my alters from being DID and we carry on conversations a lot as well.......so you should be evaluated to see if you have an imaginary world or are the people you are having conversations with alters. to do this you really need to find a t who specializes in DID or you will be misdiagnosed and wasting your time.

Thanks for your reply! In regards to your alters do they have different personalities that play out within you. For instance I find I have a protector that watches for any bad and ensures i stay safe and he also instructes the angry one who then either gets angry at me or at others, there are also the child ones who are scared of the angry one and just long for a mother to care for them.

I dont understand what DID is , are these alters?

My knowledge is limited to as I was just diagnosed at the beginning of this year but that sure sounds like it to me. I would definitely talk to somebody about it. Again you want to find someone who specializes in itbecause many professionals don't have a clue. Both my old doc and therapists suspected it but never did anything about it and I just went more and more crazy. I started with the specialist this year and I've come so far.
