Hello all, I was just wondering is there anyone like me. I love the dark months, it's the Summer I hate. I think I feel more exposed during those months. Everyone is saying at work that the days will be getting longer in a month or so and I am just dreading it. If you are like me, how do you cope with it. Have you got any tips !!

Interesting Pierro!

I don't know many people who dread the summer compared to winter. I myself live in Canada - so we have what I would call harsh winters and summers. (-30 celcius in the winter and +30 celcius in the summer).

I'd have to agree with Dancing Lady about the summer heat being an issue. That to me is the one thing I hate about summer. I appreciate the winter months because things seem to slow down and people relax indoors much more. That to me can be cozy and inviting and make me feel like less of a loser when I know the majority of people are watching movies and such...

My favorite times of year as spring and fall. Both are full of life, smells and colors. It's just a beautiful stage of change in the world. I find I am at my happiest during those times...

What is it about the winter that you like? Can you pinpoint what it is? I'm curious what makes you appreciate winter months more.

Thanks,
Hd7970ghz

Summer is just awful, I'm in Australia so it gets pretty damn hot.
I feel like Summer is considered a "happy" season and everyone is friendly and socialising and maybe that is one of the reasons I don't like it, there's too much pressure to be some easy going, fun person and being moody or depressed doesn't fit in when the sun is shining.

Winter is lovely and cold, you can snuggle up at home and keep warm, and if you feel depressed it seems to be more acceptable than, which I guess kind of makes it easier to deal with and not so bad for me.

It's Summer here. I'm starting to get bad again..

My moods have a typical seasonal pattern-off meds, I'm depressed from late August until February. So I used to hate winter, haha. Now that I rarely get "pure" depressions due to the meds, I still hate winter. I hate being cold, I hate snow (except for when it first falls) and I hate ice. The only good thing about winter is Christmas, and that happens pretty early in the miserable season.

Hi Hd7970ghz. I think we are suposed to be "happy "when the sun is shining and I dont feel that way most of the time. I think we are indoors a lot more and I like that. I think people expect more of you when the days are longer.

Yes, Yes, Yes.... I too love the winter months. I love it, I love it. I get even more depressed when spring comes. I am more active in the winter months and I don't/can't sleep as much. sometimes I am up all night/day. What do I love about it?
the clean crisp air
the white snow covering everything
the hoodlums are not standing on corners
traffic dies down when it snows, so i have the entire road to me self
the trees are bare so moonlight can shine thru
the fact that I know it will be dark soon and now I'm feeling somewhat like a vampire... I can go out and play.
What a great post! I love WInter!!!!!! Love it!!!!

12/21 is almost here, and we all know what starts happening on this day? We start gaining daylight, nights become shorter and days become longer, winter is trying to die.... (sobbing)

Best wishes and hope you have a great Christmas as well.

Haha, Bubbles. We should switch locations. I wish it was summer here in the northern hemisphere...

It just started raining here and got a little cooler! Excited to snuggle up in bed and watch some TV tonight!

There are elements of winter I like and one of them is the streets are clearer and less ppl to bump into! I love it when it rains...it brings about a kind of peace and freshness. My fave time of year though has to be Spring...the temps are at a nice level unlike summer which is when I also have hayfever
