I have psychosis, and am Dx BPD. I am still in the early stages of being diagnosed with stuff- and I think things are more tentative right now. I was told that I also have a mood disorder (My Therapist has mentioned Bipolar several times... but i dont think its a diagnosis yet) Anyway. what i think im getting at is does anyone have psychosis with their BPD? Im wondering if mine is related to the BPD or something else.

I heard of people having psychosis with BPD, but I also know people that are Bipolar with BPD who have psychosis. It can go in many different directions. just stay calm and keep in constant touch with your docs, and hopefully they will fully figure out what is going on and treat the symptoms. I wish you the best of luck.

I've dissociated before because of my BPD but never had what I'd label as psychosis. I would assume that would come from a separate diagnosis such as Bipolar or even Major Depression.

I have psychosis with BDP. Although the my doctor says that this wouldn't happen due to BDP so he believes I am misdiagnosed

i experience psychosis and have bpd, but i also have bipolar. i think my psychosis can be related to bpd or bipolar depending on what it is? the bipolar psychosis for me is more like...grandeur, angels and demons, etc. whereas psychosis with bpd would be more, delusions of abandonment i think? i read it was possible for transient psychosis if you have bpd so

I have psychosis and hypo mania with bpd I do not fall under the criteria of bipolar although I've been told I have bipolar in the past I disagree and so does my therapist now but depakoat helped me with psychosis and mania.

I have had psychosis before but have been able to come out of it on my own. It can happen sometimes with I am isolating too much and experiencing paranoia.

This is a very interesting question.

Thanks so much for asking.

I can only answer from a personal perspective only.

My psychosis is Bipolar 1 related and congruent at all with my BPD.

I only suffer psychosis during acute mania or extreme depression.

At no other times do I endure that.

I think the psychosis can happen from false memories leading to a distortion of reality.

My husband has psychosis with his BPD. It is very painful to watch sometimes, but he has had & is going through with lots and lots of therapy. There are other times when I forget that he hears voices because you would never know it if he didn't tell you. So, hang in there and keep taking care of yourself and I am sure things will be ok for you.
