Yesterday I went to the new pdoc's to get my final diagnosis. It turned out I am a perfect borderline, with 9 criteria out of 9. He says I am also avoidant and I have what he called Depressive Personality Disorder.

I know my soon-to-be ex-T thought I was avoidant but I didn't believe her and this is still news to me. Although yes, when the pdoc told me which of the criteria I filled, I thought "that's me". So I guess that's a good diagnosis.

No one spoke of my so-called Bipolar Disorder, it's now understood I never had it, although this was my diagnosis for 10 years.

As regards therapy, the pdoc suggested I do it there in Rome, in their center which is the best one in Italy for treatment of BPD. The only thing I'm dubious about, is that Rome is 2.5 hours far from where I live (one way). But the therapy would be free because they are doing a scientific trial there and I would be placed in it. I have until September to decide, but I guess I'm going to go with it.

Just wanted to share.

I perhaps should not say this but it seems a BPD is a tad better than BP1 (or even 2)...just go on a train once a week and best of luck to you! Keep us posted on your journey and experience. Love and Bliss.

Sounds like your pdoc did a good job explaining everything and sounds like that would be a good program to start with even though it's a long commute. I wish you luck with the treatment.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to accept the offer, even though it would be twice a week and not once. I guess this is a very good opportunity for me.

KinkyGuy, BPD is a bad beast, believe me, I have suffered a lot during the past 13 years. But I do agree with you, I felt a tiny bit relieved when I knew I don't have Bipolar in the end.

I have both and can attest to anyone that they are both circles of hell in their own right, slightly different but they both suck equally lol.
