Has anyone else been diagnosed with Diabetes. How did you handle the stress of it all. I have been depressed ever since I was diagnosed. Anyone got any advice.
Thank you!

Keep your numbers in check. It was progressively get worse. Do everything the doctor tells you. You DO NOT want to end up with PAINFUl neuropathy where your feet hurt all day long with ZERO relief.

I have Diabetes and I also have neuropathy. Which is very painful.
I try to keep my numbers in check but for me it is very hard to do. I was on pills for the diabetes and now I am on insulin even though I am type 2. If you have type 2 diabetes you can "cure" yourself by working out and losing weight. The reason I am on insulin is because I ended up getting septic last summer and my kidneys were affected so I could no longer take the pills. There are pills out there for neuropathy but they really don't help much. If you have anymore questions I am gladly willing to answer them.

LA-ML,
The day I was told that I have diabetes, they put me on insulin right away. I also have some blurring vision. I am kind of scared now that I know I could lose my sight. I am trying to get my blood sugar down but it seems to always be close to 300. If I lose my sight, I don't know what is going to happen, I don't have anyone to help me. I know there is nothing you can do. I just need to whine a little.
Thank you.

I know what you mean...I was told that if I don't quit smoking I would lose my right foot. An ER Dr. told me that. I talked to my regular Dr. and he said that in severe cases that can happen.
I understand the blurred vision.
To get my blood sugars low is that I am eating less and that I drink a bottle that had pop in it and it is 1.5 Liters and I put flavor packets in it and then drink..JUST make sure the packets are caffeine free and sugar free.
