hey.

I'm currently diagnosed with psychosis (schizophrenia) and my doc says i have ''personality issues'' although he has not gone into detail about what.

I find it very difficult, almost impossible to look at things that have happened and to tell an account of things that have happened i.e. looking at my ''symptoms'' and verbaliisng them.

my psychologist also says i have PTSD - although i am not entierly sure she is right.

So what is personality disorder and how do i know i have it?

can anyone help?

I'm an introvert that used to be an extrovert (with the help of drugs), i have suffered with boughts of despression.

One minute i'm ok then the next, i feel i want to end it all.

i have good days and bad.

There are many different types of personality disorders, and within each type of personality disorder there are so many sub-types and different factors that come into play. With Borderline Personality Disorder alone there are 9 different criteria that make up the diagnosis, and you only need 5 to be diagnosed with it. There are endless combination of symptoms. I believe that personality disorders tend to respond better to therapy than medication. If you are dealing with schizophrenia and psychosis than the proper medication is most-likely very important to controlling your symptoms. Once you have gotten the psychosis and other schizophrenia symptoms under control, perhaps that is when personality issues could be addressed.
