Can't take it anymore....this anger builds up in me and the only way of relief is cutting...then taking xanax to settle and seroquel at night. Have excellent psych doctor but im still getting these episodes...really dont want to take any mor meds than i'm on but it still happens and leaves me ashamed and exhausted.
Any ideas to help...i've so had it...dont want Christmas.Roxyanne1

What I do when that drive to cut gets bad is draw out colour in. At first where I would have cut, now just coloring is soothing enough. And I also started less severe forms instead, like pinching. It's really difficult to pinch hard enough to break the skin, but the pain would be like a decaf version, not the same relief but almost. Then adding the drawing and I don't even pinch often anymore. I hope this helps *hugs *

I do the same with pinching lately - I find that it helps me when I'm feeling out of control.

I know just how that feels. I would hurt myself in fear that I would hurt someone else. I used to snap rubber bands on my wrist. Mostly I just removed the people from my life that were stressful to keep around, which I know is not always possible. Please be careful, okay?
