Hopefully this is the right place to post this! But I wanted to start a thread to focus on the positive things by those dealing with borderline personality disorder. If this is redundant or silly, just let me know, and I'll hide in my hobbit hole.

Today, I've come to the realisation that I have been sober since October 1st, 2015. This, to me, means I haven't gotten drunk, engaged in harmful activity, and haven't done drugs. I'm proud of that.

Nice I like this I don't know if it's been done but having a couple can't hurt right?!

Congrats on your sobriety pride is a very good feeling and I'll say I second that and today I came up with a coping plan for worst case scenarios of the day, went to therapy and did not self sabotage and was able to volunteer at the animal shelter afterwards.

Oh, thanks! I wasn't sure, so I just winged it, haha.

Congratulations! Working with animals is always therapeutic. I hope you keep it up! ^~^

These are great accomplishments!

I have a lot on my agenda today, but so far I scooped the litter box and got the ball rolling with DBT therapy with my counselor.

Plus I decided, despite everything wrong with me, I'm going to try and return to grad school to get my MSW, then pursue a Ph.D. I've been thinking very black and white about this. That having these disorders and being mildly cognitively impaired means I can't accomplish school or my dreams. But that isn't true! So I learned a little gray area thinking today.

I guess I have that to be proud of too. I haven't drank or done drugs in along time so I can give myself a pat on the back for that too. I think being diagnosed and having medication and support for BPD has been a big factor in me not drinking or taking drugs. Before I was diagnosed or on meds I was a big mess .

Today I did yoga for the 3rd day in a row. I'd stopped going to the gym a couple months ago because of my job, and haven't been motivated enough to go back yet, so I decided to try yoga because I can do it at home and should help me at least a little bit. Seems to be helping so far.

Everyone is doing awesome so far! Keep it up, y'all! ^~^

Today, I've been in a bad mood and was nervous to go to a family gathering and whatnot. But I did well and everyone accepted me (still, though sometimes I don't feel like I belong). I'm motivated to work out more for my health than how I look and rode my bike for the first time in months. Albeit for three minutes before I almost died, but hey. I'mma be riding tonight. For sure! Woot woot.

Today I got a digital art software program as an early Christmas present. I really enjoy it so far and learning a lot. Hope it keeps me busy until the actual day.

Today I've managed to survive my first opening shirt on Black Friday. I've been up since 3am, but can't sleep...so I'm still awake.

Today I decorated the interior of the house for the holidays. I have to wait until we get a break from the rain before I can do the outside.

OMG. Decorating for the holidays. I wanted to do that today and completely forgot. If I didn't force my parents to, they wouldn't decorate or celebrate any holiday. They are so boring. I bet your house looks great!

Today, I've been mad since I woke up. No good reason. Just out of sorts especially with my husband.

Today, I've decided to start journaling each day. I will start writing one positive affirmation, one thing I'm grateful for, and one goal for the day, and whether it is completed or not, and my general mood for the day. Relatively simple.

Today, I'm in love with my hair (may seem vain, but it's short and all cute like, for real xD); I'm grateful for having been adopted into a family that cares about me; my goal was to unpack my hygiene products from my mountain trip. Since the clothes was all dirty, didn't have to worry about that yet, but I put stuff away, and generally feel pretty awesome right now.

estrella, that's great.

i used to journal too (still sometimes too)

it really does help talking to a peace of paper. maybe that does sound strange, but it does!. it's like you can tell it anything
