Well when your water heater breaks and you have no friends or family to help fix it you feel all those feelings of being a social misfit. It just makes me sad that I am so old and so alone. UGH.

Oh dancinglady...... that is way to freaky of a coincidence. EXACT SAME THING AND THOUGHTS GOING ON HERE! !! Flood, cleaned, reflood, cleaned. ... realizing just how truly alone I am also because I think about how I would go help someone else, but there's nobody reaching out here and my t had to cancel or last 2 sessions. .. SOOOOO, the hot water tank is just a symbol of life. . Especially trying to work through this therapy crap with no support. Been trying to sleep and just got overwhelmed with lonely sames again and decided to look on here and saw your post.

All that to say...... I both empathize and sympathize and wish I could help you out, but it is doubtful we are in the same local region or I would! !

So sorry you have to both deal with the mess AND the feelings that come from these reminders.

Guess what ?... me too! .. Weirdest thing , I have super anxiety about my water heater because it's been having issues and if /when it goes out I have no money or friends to even help fix it... being alone can be so hard , the smallest things can really set us off.

I too wish I could help physically , but I do hope that knowing your are not alone somehow helps mentally...

If anyone else blows a hot water tank and deals with life alone, I am going to start looking at possible alien interaction geared toward a specific population. .. lol

Mine is propane, so I opted for buying a small 6 gallon that plugs into a regular wall plug and am going I can figure out how to hook it to my shower. That way I don't have to have the old one messed with because I can't afford to hire someone to mess with propane and I'm not going there. This one cost less then $200 on amazon and I sure couldn't fix or replace the other anywhere near that. Hoping it will work out.

Dancing lady,,, did it just so heating or do you have s leak? My mother's stopped heating several times and hers was gas, but was easily fixed. I relit her pilot before and there is a reset on most of them. Still stinks without anyone you can trust to see if it would be an easy fix and not fry to rip you off. .

My gas meter ran out of battery and I couldn't have any heating or hot water. I told my family but they didn't care or offer to help. Luckily the company came out to fix it. I know how it is too well to feel alone and have nobody to help
