I'm not really sure I'm borderline, but all the tests I take say that I severely have it. I think it could be why ive never had a gf. I play stupid games. Theres this girl I really like, shes my cousins friend. I seen her at the bar with my cousin and I tried to talk to her, but she wouldn't talk to me. So I did everything I could to make her jealous. I danced with other girls and stuff. Then after I left she calls me on my cousins phone and tells me to meet up with her. So we meet up and there is me, my friend, cousin and her. We were talking a bit and I opened up and asked if she got jealous that I was with other girls and she said yeah. Then shes starts messing with me and flirting with my friend. I literally threatened suicide. Then before we split up she gives me her number and we texed for a bit that night, but now she wont text back. Do you think because of the dumb games I play girls get disinterested in me? Are these even traits of borderline?

Here are the traits of BPD as described in the DSM-5.
"Borderline personality disorder is a pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects, and marked impulsivity. A pervasive pattern of instability of interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects, and marked impulsivity, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following: 1. Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment. (Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behavior covered in Criterion 5.) 2. A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation. 3. Identity disturbance: markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self. 4. Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating). (Note: Do not include suicidal or selfmutilating behavior covered in Criterion 5.) 5. Recurrent suicidal behavior, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behavior. 6. Affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (e.g., intense episodic dysphoria, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days). 7. Chronic feelings of emptiness. 8. Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g., frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights). 9. Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms." What you described seems to hit at least one or two of the traits, but since I am no professional and also don't know you at all, I can't say whether or not it's BPD or something else that makes you feel/act the way that you do. So that's the list ^^^, hopefully you can look it over and maybe if the descriptions hit home you can go and talk to somebody about it. Hope this helps! Best of luck to you ^-^ |
