So I was just minding my own business today, contemplating. Some thoughts about the human condition came to me, specifically about BPD but could be applied to any other aberration of the mind. So here goes -
We are born with absolutely perfect minds. No blemishes or abstracts, noting dark, no disconnects and no imaginations. As experiences of negativity start entering the child's consciousness a cover or mask is being placed on top of the perfect blueprint. These masks become belief systems and those belief systems can take on a life of their own where the body, mind and spirit are held hostage by the false self - the mask. This mask comes in a variation of faces. As many labels as there are to describe misery and hell, so are there masks. And because they are attached so closely to the true self, seamless, we believe it to be our real selves. In fact, we believe everything it tells us and shows us in reality. Its perception becomes our *truth* about ourselves and the world. So when it tells us lies about ourselves and others, we believe them because we have no other conscious reference point. As far as we're concerned it must be true because this is our history as far as we can remember. We're told by the superimposed mask not to trust, to be fearful and use anger. All the opposites of what is in actuality the real truth. What is good, beneficial and life-giving. The mask is so cleverly designed that the belief system also becomes the attractor and repeater - meaning - we will continue to sustain the mask of untruth by attracting and repeating the same types of scenarios over and over again to bring about the desired results of the mask which is - pain and suffering. The way out is to remove the mask. To separate from the superimposed layer. To detach. To observe it. Then to subdue it - where the Self holds the reins and guides it where it does good. The same force is turned inside out on itself and utilized for a greater purpose - love and life. |

I think this is a good insight which is probably applicable to a lot of different issues, not only BPD. How many people secretly wish they could be "authentic", rather than playing a social role manufactured from our own fears and other people's expectations? A random sampling of psychology and self-help books and articles hints that this problem is all too common.

I think it's important to note that the formula is
-detaching or separating from the mask in objective form - study it, look at it, turn it over but have no feeling about it -submit to the fact that it is/was there and served its purpose, it is afterall the history and backdrop of who we are and are to become -transform and uplift the energy so it becomes a channel for good, a higher power, angelic force, creativity, life-force basically taking it from 0 to hero - turning a lie into life. |
