All mind altering drugs can be a temporary fix for what is ailing. Once stabilization (i.e. non-suicidality/high arousal/meltdown) is gotten, along with non-judgmental, supporting others, a look at OXYTOCIN the natural human hormone which is released during pleasure of the heart kind.

I wrote a rather lengthy reply - and that got deleted. So - will try again. The situation with BPD is a severe reduction in the love hormones that we start out with in life. There is a deficiency mostly in OXYTOCIN. There is numerous info/data sheets and explanations about how this works in connectivity/relationship. There are no quick fixes.

I'm on lamictal and latuda and so far the latuda has been making me feel better mood-wise (not sure if it's placebo or not since I've only been on it 2 weeks so far) but I have experienced side effects (restlessness, anxiety, sleep issues).
No clue if lamictal is doing anything though, and I've been on that for over a year. DBT makes the most substantial difference in a borderline person's life. I wish there were a BPD med ![]() |
