Hi all,
I am sure that I have BPD. I have chameleon disorder, I don't know who I am and I act differently around everyone that I socialize with. I've been trying to break this for years, but with no success. I get nervous in social situations. I'm afraid to say hi and introduce myself to people. I typically only socialize well with extroverts, or those with good social skills, because I can emulate them. I do poorly with introverts and those who do not have a welcoming demeanor. I have a narcissistic side to me too. I get angry and frustrated easily. Especially when someone does not talk to me in a calm tone of voice. When I feel like I'm being attacked, I lose it. I hate this side of me and am desperate to change it. How do I find a good therapist? There are tons of listings, but I want one who is really good at treating BPD/Narcissism, which most therapists unfortunately are not good at. My previous encounter with a therapist was bad, he simply didn't seem to understand how to treat my condition. Thank you! |

Hello Revolver: I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral! Perhaps other members, here on PC, will have some suggestions with regard to finding a good therapist. As far as I am aware, it's mostly just a matter of trial-&-error. However here are links to 3 articles on the subject from PsychCentral's archives:
