I don't have this dx on my file, not that it would bother me if it was accurate

As I think diagnoses are supposed to help with treatment, at least that is the idea. I think

I wrote out quite a long post but felt vulnerable and exposed. A therapist said I probably have BPD..... I'm sorry for being me. I suck. A doctor said I'm a "normal" woman,

I'm not normal and I don't know what it means anyway

I was "wrong" since I was born. I'm spinning my wheels,

So I'll continue trying to "stay in the moment"

For now

I don't feel normal either. I don't have a BPD diagnosis, but I identify with much of the diagnostic criteria. I often feel like I wish I had a label to put a name to the difficulties I have experienced with functioning in my life.

Some doctors and therapists aren't as focused on diagnoses though. I think if you see a really good doctor or therapist who takes the time to understand the issues you struggle with and that truly care, and are competent at dealing with those specific issues, that is probably more helpful than anything else.

Staying in the moment can be very challenging especially when your emotions are spinning out of control. I certainly haven’t mastered that yet. They say it just takes practice. I guess I should be grateful for the opportunity to practice so much, but truth be told, I would rather not have the intense emotions to begin with. I would gladly give up the opportunities for practice. Gentle hugs.
