Just got home from hanging out with my sister and trying to to tell her I understood her frustration from a mental breakdown, telling her I saw her ex husband downtown and avoiding him like the plague. I've tried to talk to my sister who reached out to me in fear( hence my other thread here) I've tried not to to talk about the mental state about a woman's psych. But as a brother and a man's psych. I have tried to talk and reason and I get nowhere with her. Wtf so I do

Are you saying your sister doesn't listen to you because she doesn't think you understand what she's going through? I'm not sure what the issue is.

Just thinking on different possibilities.
Many times, when people have a breakdown, it’s very hard for them to let themselves help. They might avoid to be a burden or even been seem in their lower and more vulnerable moments.
I would do the following. It’s only a suggestion since I don’t know if you already did it. I guess you did.

When a person closes in him/herself, the only thing you can do is to let that person know that they can count on you. That you are there for supporting them. Without forcing them. Paying attention to all the clues you can get to know what kind of help they need. Many times, it’s a great step forward and a relief only been listened. So, I would ask her how you can help her directly or pay attention to what she really needs at this moment so she will feel more comfortable and safe.
