It's perfectly cool to talk to us. There is also a section in the relationships forum called "Partners with Personality Disorders". Not a perfect fit but it might help.

Be patient. All of the answers are not going to come overnight, but you're on the right track.

Hi there. I am also having challenges dealing with a family member who has bpd. Have you found many chats to help cope?
Thanks

Hi, Kristeena, welcome to PsychCentral (PC). That's too bad the doctor responded to you that way. I know Lake Placid (my parents had a summer home there 20 years ago), not so big that you can find a lot of different doctors. Have you been to a counselling center at all, looked into therapy? There's more than just the medical care to feeling better. Learning to work with the symptoms can make you feel better too.

i have not been diagnosed but am sure i have bpd too. I have ruined every relationship i have had with family and friends and feel confused about who or what i am or want so can completely relate to you. Tell me more about yourself, i know how awful it is to feel like you have nobody at all xxx

Hi, I'm Carol from the cold, wet and frosty UK. Yeah, I feel like the only borderliner in the world, in fact I was born with it 30 odd years ago when it had no name, or maybe kinda ''split personality'' derived from horror films!!!!! through Psych Central I have met one very special lady friend, sorta best femail friend, this has made a great difference to my life. UK psycs don't even aknowledge BPD in the way they do bi-polar or other disorders so life is pretty hard - sometimes too hard to bare. But stay with psych central and you wont go wrong. BIG HUGS, Carol Waggiedog

I'm new to this group. It's been a tough 30 years for our kids, grand kids, relatives, friends and I. I'd like to find a way to live peacefully with him during the few years we have left! Does anyone have a spouse diagnosed with BPD? Is there any hope?

Hi jnet,

I replied to your post above and I encourage you to post in the general posting area below.

In my other post I shared a link to a site for families of BPD that you might find helpful too: http://www.bpdfamily.com/message_board/

See you below...
