Hey guys. So I'm a fasting/exercising bulimic. I fast for as long as I can, and then when I cave I try and exercise it out. However, I have a disability that limits the exercise I can do. I'll exercise until I can't stand anymore, but it doesn't burn that many calories. Does this count as excessive exercise? Thanks!

I was exercising twice daily shooting hoops and cycling for almost a year and after losing a considerable amount of weight I noticed I was not losing as many calories like when I first started. Eventually your body gets used to your routine and so you have to change it up but I was the same way, not being satisfied until I came back drenched in sweat lol. Also you should let your body rest during the week to let your muscles recover, hope that helped. Good luck!

To answer your question I don't think it is excessive.

Although you may be exercising ALOT it might not be so problematic, as long as it doesn't interfere with your day to day functioning ie. you can go to work/school/other commitments, socialise etc. When it intereferes with those things, as well as your physical wellbeing, it can be considered a disorder. I suppose it can be considered exessive if it is time consuming, militant, and meaningless ie. you are not training for a specific event or competition; mearly working out to burn calories

Exercise until you can't stand is too excessive. When your muscles burn (not hurt) is when you should stop. You want to feel the burn and let yourself sweat, drink plenty of water, only exercise like that every other day, get your heart rate up for 20 minutes or so, that's it.
