(one of them apologized to me last year) i have been consciously rejecting their treatment of me as being their issue, not mine, and separate to who i really am.

i have been looking into the mirror and telling myself how happy i am to see me. and praising myself whenever i feel i have done something good. this might sound a bit nutty but it has really helped me fill some of the void. i used to feel empty inside but it is getting better.

after a lifetime of passively accepting the status quo, to think that i, me, myself, can, even in the slightest way, fix what i feel needs to be fixed...well, it feels amazing and encouraging..it isn't too late.
I had some of the same experiences you mentioned. Thank you for sharing and being open and giving some ideas.

i'm sorry she answered you that way. several people suggested we parent ourselves if our caregivers didn't do it right. i also read the book 'healing your emotional self' by beverly engel and that helped too. i hope something will help you/us.

i really hope you will try self-parenting. my mom has passed so there is no way to fix my upbringing through her but i hope parenting myself is another way to heal. it doesn't cost a thing and we can do it anytime, anywhere.

I spent all my spare money for the month on some art materials which seems like a crazy luxury given that I have a long list of items that are needed - but the delivery driver hasn't arrived yet and the company that employ him said that they are having trouble with him! I just hope he's not having a melt down for some reason.

Edit: Just seen on the online tracking screen that he's driving to a different town now!!! I was meant to be painting today.

I have both a print copy and an electronic copy of a certain book. Today I thought it would be fun to let the automated text-to-speech reader read the electronic copy while I followed along on the print copy. It brought to mind those old read-along records accompanying children's books from the late 1960's and early 1970's. Some of you might remember. I'm talking about the Disney ones with Robie Lester's voice saying, "When Tinkerbell rings her little bell like this, (sound effect of bell ringing) turn the page."

as I was reading this message I thought you were going to bring that up.

growing up, I had some of those on cassette tape- I had a lion king one, snow white one, peter pan and the hunch back of notre dame- probably others, but those are the ones I remember using a lot
Thanks for this!

while channel surfing today, I came across a channel showing toy story 2.

it was a while since I'd watched any of the toy story movies, so figured I'd watch it- it was good, though I think I may have triggered a memory..

their's a song in the movie called woody's roundup, and the more and more I think about that song, I deffenetely remember it with other words- and I remember a guy dressed up as woody, from somewhere, but it eludes me where...

going to bug me all day now

I also drank some pop and had some bacon crisps
