I know I'm new to this forum but hopefully you will understand.

I suffer from chronic back pain from an accident I had in 1973. Luckily I was taught a self-hypnosis technique to help me deal with the daily 4 to 6+ pain but when the technique stops helping or the pains get to that 10+ level I need my codine.

This new law that is suppose to stop the prescription of vicadin scares the crap out of me. It took years to get the docs to understand my need and I don't know what to do now. My current doc did prescibe a time released morphine but I seem to be allergic to it. (symptoms like congestive heart failure when I take it) Codine is the only relief I get even if it is only a couple pills a month.

Anyone have any idea what other med might work?
